It can be truly said of Pastor Tony and his wife Susan that they have a heart for people. Their passionate desire is to see hurting, lonely, troubled men and women become victorious, exuberant and alive in Jesus! Pastor Tony has a heart as big as his original hometown area - the Bronx. He has had many experiences in his lifetime including boxer, military police, nightclub singer but his most fulfilling is the title of Pastor which he has held for 25 years at various churches. Another role that Pastor Tony loves is that of husband (to his lovely bride Susan for over 30 years), father of 4, and grandfather of 3.
Pastor Bryan is the oil to Pastor Tony’s wheel - he keeps Pastor Tony going and in the right direction. Pastor Bryan wears many hats at Joy Community - building project director, missions director, multi-media and computer programmer, besides counseling and answering whatever needs arise that particular day. He also is busy at home with his four young children and his lovely wife Michelle. We thank God many times for Bryan’s gentle and efficient giftings.
The youngest member of our team, Keith is the one who keeps us tuned to the cutting edge of ministry. Coming from the streets himself, he can relate to the innercity youth Joy Community serves. He and his wife Katie have a repore with both the youth who have grown up in the church and those that are just learning what church is all about. His desire, especially, is to see the different cultures blend together in unity.
Pastor Alvin and Debra Parris

Pastor Alvin and his wife Debra have been involved in the music community in Rochester many years, since their graduation from Eastman School of Music. Besides hosting a weekly radio program and having their own music studio, they have directed the U of R Gospel Choir for 30 years and have started many gospel choirs of various college campuses. They have performed and ministered with many noted artists such as Edwin Hawkins, Yolanda Adams, Andrae Crouch, Cleophus Robinson, Phil Driscoll, Miss Jessye Norman, and Gladys Knight. Their orchestral careers span many countries. They have been married for more than 30 years and have 4 children. They are a wonderful addition to the Joy Community Family.
Annie is the behinds-the-scene person that keeps things running. She has many roles at Joy Community such as office administrator, bookkeeper, receptionist, media/print producer. One of Annie’s interests is drama. Her desire, as co-director of Joy Community’s drama team, is to see drama used as a tool in the Father’s hand to communicate His desires to people.
